As the Body of Christ, Asbury United Methodist Church reaches out to all people through the power and presence and love of God. To this end Asbury sponsors a host of ministry opportunities that encourage its members to express their God given and Sprit directed passions to the glory of God and the advancement of God's Kingdom.
If you have a Spirit filled passion, then you can trust that
it will find expression in the life of Asbury.
We continually work with our members and the greater community to develop new ministries, and invite you to be a part of what God is doing in West Durham. Some of the current ministries offered at Asbury include nursery parents, greeters, groundskeepers, ushers, worship leadership, service to the rescue mission, volunteer service to the Ronald McDonald Family Room in Duke Hospital, tape ministries and visitation, choir and pre-service music offerings, food ministries, ministries to the grieving, Disciple Bible Outreach Ministries, altar guild and worship committee, United Methodist Women, UMYF, Sunday school teachers, volunteer's in the preschool and educational ministries, web based ministries, and lay leadership in chapel services at local area nursing homes.
