For you shall go out in joy and be led back in peace…. Isaiah 55:12a
Durham has been our home for over 125 years. We believe that we are called to serve our community and world in Christian love.
A few ways we serve…
CropWalk
On Palm Sunday, each year, walkers of all ages from our church join the crowd walking from Duke Chapel, through the neighborhood near our church building. Each year we field of team of 35 walkers and raise $4-5,000 for hunger in Durham and around the world

Open Table Ministries
Housed at Trinity UMC, Open Table seeks to provide practical help to move people out of homelessness and into stable living conditions. We are the host site for Open Table’s Winter Shelter November 15th - March 15th. Each night, up to 20 of our unsehltered neighbors come to our Community Hall to be warm and safe for the evening. Additionally, our congregation participates as active volunteers, by volunteering at OPen Table’s Free Store, assembling Blessing Bags, and participating in the annual fundraising walk.

International Work and Refugee Assistance
From Christmas boxes for children in Armenia, to setting up homes for newly arrived refugees to Durham, to welcoming a family from Haiti last summer, we are always looking for ways to extend our call to Christian hospitality beyond the borders of our church building.
Iglesia La Semilla Food Ministry
Following the lead of our sister congregation in the Durham Central Mission Cooperative, we work to help distribute food to hungry people in our community. Look for a chance to help on the second Tuesday of each month.
