For you shall go out in joy and be led back in peace…. Isaiah 55:12a

Where is peace needed in our community?
Welcome - But Not Really
This is a picture of the front of a house in Walltown where two different marginalized groups are represented. To the owner of the house, it reflects the best and worst of humanity. On the one hand, there is love-well received in Durham; but when a cultured flag is displayed, a small number of Durhamites seem to think it is unacceptable. One person was heard saying, “This is why some people should go back to where they came from if they are so proud of it.” Peace is needed where tolerance is lacking. Love is welcome but the Haitian flag is not in one place. The Haitian flag is welcome but the LGBTQ+ Flag is not welcome in another.
