Where is peace needed in our community?

With this focus question in mind, 14 volunteers from Asbury and our West Durham neighborhood went out this last August and took pictures. Each of us brought 5 pictures we took to a retreat, where we listened carefully to what one another had seen, wrote the stories of our pictures, and settled on 35 images that we felt, as a community, best answered the question of where peace was needed.

What you are looking at on this website or in our church yard is the result of this process of observation and discernment (the approach we used is called Photovoice if you are curious to learn more). What will come next is a retreat later in September where we will move from observation to building partnerships for peace. Thanks for your curiosity.
